Viv Lee
Ceramic artist Viv works with terracotta and stoneware clays to create sculptural hand-built vessels. Making vessels as a means of expression and as a form of spirituality, her practice is ultimately linked to her belief that the body and the earth is sacred. Exploring the materiality of clay and the metaphor of the body as a vessel, pieces are glazed in a palette of whites and natural earthy tones, or left unglazed to show the raw tones of the material. Through this approach, a diversity of forms emerge, each with imperfections and beautiful idiosyncrasies that add to their uniqueness.
